8 cloves garlic, chopped
1/8 cup olive oil
1/8 – ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
¼ - ½ teaspoon sea salt
2 stalks broccoli, cut into florets
1 Tablespoon soy sauce

Bring large pan of salted water to a boil.   Once boiling, add the broccoli and cook 2-3 minutes, until blanched and crisp tender.  Be careful not to overcook, as broccoli will cook a bit more after being drained.  Drain well or pour into colander.  Immediately immerse in a large bowl of ice water until the broccoli is cooled.  Immersing the broccoli in ice water stops the cooking and sets the bright green color.  Drain well.

Sauté garlic in olive oil until translucent.  Turn off the heat, and add the red pepper flakes and salt.  Pour into another bowl to stop the cooking.  Whisk in soy sauce.

After broccoli is drained and olive oil, garlic, salt & soy sauce mixture have cooled, toss together in a large bowl and serve cold or at room temperature.
